Follow these essentials to set up your wallet with care. Take your time; security is built from small, deliberate choices.
Download Trezor Suite only from the official Trezor website. It is the companion app for managing your wallet, checking balances, and sending or receiving supported cryptocurrencies. Connect your device with the supplied cable and follow the on-screen prompts to install the latest firmware. If a website or message directs you to an unofficial download, stop and navigate to trezor.io yourself.
Your device will show a recovery seed during setup. Carefully write each word in the correct order on the recovery card, then check every word before continuing. This seed is the master backup for your wallet: anyone who sees it may take your funds. Keep it offline in a private, secure place. Never photograph it, save it in a document, type it into a website, or share it with support staff.
Choose a PIN that is hard for others to guess and enter it directly on your device as instructed. Your PIN helps protect access if the wallet is lost. Once setup is complete, explore Suite and learn how to verify transaction details on the device screen. Start with a small test transfer when you are ready. Always confirm the address and amount on your Trezor before approving a transaction.
Keep it yours
Trezor cannot recover a lost recovery seed or reverse transactions. Treat your backup as the most important thing you own in crypto.
Never share your seed, even if someone claims to be support. No legitimate support agent needs it. Verify links, downloads, and addresses independently.
Your computer can be compromised. Read transaction details on your hardware wallet display and approve only what you intended.
Understand network fees, supported assets, and address formats first. Crypto transactions are generally irreversible once confirmed.
